Fitting

I would like fitting advice. What do I need to measure?

If you’re emailing us for fitting advice, please let us know the following by sending it through to hello@callashoes.com

  • Your shoe size according to our measurement guide
  • The width of the bunion of each of your feet, as measured around the bunion
  • A picture of your feet

I'm unsure about what size to order.

If you’re not sure about which size to order, then our shoe size guide on our website should be able to help you click here to view it.

The size guide will tell you the shoe size you need to fit comfortably in our shoes and most people find that our shoes are ‘true to size’ – this means you don’t have to size up your shoes to accommodate your bunions.

Additionally, if you let us know your feet measurements (the width of the widest place on each of your feet, as measured around the bunion) and send us a picture of your feet, we can help you determine whether our shoes will be suitable for your bunions. Please send any queries to hello@callashoes.com

Do the shoes come in different widths?

All Calla shoes are made in one width only which is between Wide (W) and Extra Wide (WW) in the toe box and a Standard (D) fit everywhere else.

Some styles are more generous than others so if you are unsure about your sizing you should email hello@callashoes.com or use our online chat to understand better what styles would be best for you.

I'm unsure if the shoes will fit my bunions.

If you let us know your feet measurements (the width of the widest place on each of your feet, as measured around the bunion) and send us a picture of your feet, we can help you determine whether our shoes will be suitable for your bunions. Please send any queries to hello@callashoes.com

Will the shoes fit me even if I have large/small bunions?

All of our shoes are a standard fit across the back of the shoe and a Wide-Extra Wide (W-WW) fit in the toe box. The wider toe-box provides your toes with 'breathing' space and allows them to not be squished, as it normally happens in standard-fitting shoes. The standard fit across the back of the shoe ensures that your foot is securely in place.

We would invite you to have a look at some of our photo reviews too You can see that some of our customers have rather large bunions, while some have tiny ones, and the shoes can accommodate all that.

Which shoes are better for larger bunions?

The AVA kitten heel, the STAR sneaker, the Chelsea style boots and the ESME block heel are some of our widest offerings and will therefore be able to accommodate larger bunions that the rest of our shoes.

To be sure of the exact fit, please email us your shoe size and the measurements of your feet (as measured around the bunion on each foot), along with a picture of your feet to hello@callashoes.com

Shoes only come in one width which is around Wide - Extra Wide (W-WW) fitting in the toe box, and standard width in the back of the shoe.

Will the shoes fit me if I only have a bunion on one foot?

It is actually quite beneficial for your non-bunioned foot to be in a wider toe-box.

All of our shoes re a standard fit across the back of the shoe and a Wide (W) fit in the toe box. The wider toe-box provides your toes with 'breathing' space and allows them to not be squished, as it normally happens in standard-fitting shoes. The standard fit across the back of the shoe ensures that your foot is securely in place.

      The Shoes

I need to break in my new shoes. How do I do this?

If your shoes are rubbing at the heel you can try a couple of things:

Often it's the position of your foot in the shoe which causes the back of the heel to rub - you can try buying and adding in a simple 'heel lift' which can often help to reposition the foot.

Vaseline rubbed on your foot and on the shoe can reduce the friction between your foot and the shoe which causes rubbing. Of course you may not want to use vaseline on your new shoes so you could also try a 'moleskin' felt pad for the back of the shoe and rubbing vaseline on that instead.

You can also see our care guide for advice on stretching your shoes.

What are the insoles in your shoes like?

The insoles in our shoes have arch support and are cushioned.

      The sneakers have removable arch

Do your shoes have arch support?

All of our shoes feature a cushioned and mild arch support insole, except for the espadrille wedges and some flat sandals. These feature ball of the foot support or extra cushioning instead.

      Which styles are wide fitting?

All shoes are wide fitting but each style only comes in one width.  Most shoes will fit up to a WW width fitting but there will be a description on each product page so you can check the width fitting.

Are your shoes suitable for post op feet?

Many customers find our shoes suitable for post-operative footwear, especially if the operation in question was a bunionectomy, as they don't have any seams and come up higher on the foot and so cover scarring.
